The Asscher diamonds are not heard of very often. Created by the Holland based Asscher brothers in 1902, these diamonds are known for their uniqueness. While resembling an emerald cut in many ways, this particular diamond is shaped like a square instead of a rectangle. It has not been much in vogue recently however until the main lead of the television show, ‘Sex and the City’ started wearing it.
